Emerald Hills

Overview

Emerald Hills is a unique, nature-oriented area which encompasses parts of Woodside, Redwood City, and unincorporated San Mateo County. Lots throughout this neighborhood tend to be larger than other Peninsula communities, with sizes ranging on average between one-half and one acre. Houses are a mix of original structures, extensive remodels, and brand-new, often very large homes, often shrouded by dense oak forests and steep hillsides that afford natural privacy. Many residences overlook expansive Edgewood Park, which ensures unobstructed panoramas that will remain in their natural state. Local schools and shopping centers are quickly accessible, yet residents can also enjoy a vibrant outdoor lifestyle thanks to abundant hiking trails and proximity to parks and nature preserves.

While living in the hills does provide privacy and gorgeous views, the downside is that Emerald Hills is rather compact and possesses narrow, windy streets, leading to a lack of walkability. However, residents don’t seem to mind living in close proximity to each other; a welcoming sense of community is evidenced throughout the neighborhood, encouraged by the presence of local attractions like the Emerald Lake Country Club. Surrounded by woodlands and showcasing breathtaking vistas within close commuting distance to many technology employers, Emerald Hills is a rare, beautiful, and relatively affordable option for homebuyers.
