Overview
Comprising the southeast corner of Sunnyvale, Birdland is a pleasant neighborhood that merges a relaxed residential vibe with excellent proximity to amenities and major employers. Though not many businesses are located within the confines of Birdland, several plazas and shopping centers line its boundaries, giving residents prime access without interfering with the predominant suburban aura of the community. Many of the area’s streets are named after types of birds, which in turn gives the neighborhood its name.
Kaiser Permanente’s sprawling Santa Clara Medical Center and the new Apple Park campus are both virtually across the street from Birdland, which is an excellent feature for commuters. Students are near well-regarded public schools and private academies, affording them a variety of educational options. Residents enjoy living just moments from a smorgasbord of international cuisines, including Indian, Chinese, and Korean favorites. International markets are also located just outside Birdland, underscoring the ethnic flavor of the neighborhood. Plus, Raynor Park, the location of Sunnyvale’s Little League field, is tucked at the heart of Birdland. With its combination of fantastic accessibility and low-key living, it’s no wonder that Birdland is a very popular destination for newcomers to Silicon Valley real estate.
