Linfield Oaks

Overview

Linfield Oaks is a lovely, suburban neighborhood prized for its wide, tree-lined streets, cohesive sense of community, and proximity to Stanford University and the downtown attractions of both Menlo Park and Palo Alto. Comprised of 80 acres bordered by San Francisquito Creek, Linfield Oaks was developed in the 1950s as a combination of single-family homes, garden apartments, and office buildings. Many of the present-day homes are modest originals in fashion, although two new communities were developed between 2007 and 2009: Summerhill Homes, and enclave of 32 large, Craftsman-style homes, and Morgan Lane, a Victorian-style community of 56 homes.

The neighborhood connects to Burgess Park, a community destination replete with a swimming pool, playgrounds, rec center/gymnasium, skateboard park, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and basketball courts. A variety of activities, classes, and camps are held at Burgess Park throughout the year, keeping its residents active and close-knit. Block parties with potluck dinners are frequently held during the summer, while the holiday season ensures that many of the streets in Linfield Oaks are elaborately decorated by groups of neighbors working together. In the midst of the hectic bustle of Silicon Valley, Linfield Oaks imparts to its residents a rare feeling of true community.
