Sharon Heights is a neighborhood that has it all—privacy, rural tranquility and accessibility to shopping, Stanford University and Highway 280. It is bordered by the Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club (from which it derives its name) to the north and west, Sand Hill Road to the south and Santa Cruz Avenue to the east. Sharon Heights has a wide variety of properties—from original 60’s ranch-style homes, to new construction of mansions, as well as apartments and townhomes on the north side of town with spectacular views of the Peninsula and Bay.
The winding streets, many canopied by trees, give the hilly neighborhood a lush, exclusive feel. Its proximity to the country club and venture capital firms, technology and financial companies on Sand Hill Road make the neighborhood extremely desirable for Silicon Valley executives. Opportunities for outdoor activities abound. There are two neighborhood parks: Sharon Park, notable for its picturesque lake where you can often find children feeding the ducks, and Sharon Hills Park with walking paths, breathtaking views and workout stations.
Even though the neighborhood feels like it is in the country, it is close to amenities like those found at the Sharon Heights Shopping Center, which features a Safeway, Starbucks and several restaurants and unique retail shops. The downside is that the neighborhood is not very walkable—you will need a car to get around. There have also been some soil erosion issues with some properties. Students attend the highly-acclaimed Los Lomitas schools from grades K-8 and then continue to Menlo-Atherton High School.
