Overview
It’s good to be in the 1%—at least in terms of quality of schools. And that’s a claim that Monta Vista can make as its eponymous high school is ranked as one of the top 1% of America’s high schools. High-performing local schools are certainly a primary draw to the neighborhood, but there are many other reasons why residents love to call Monta Vista home, not least of which is its beautiful scenery.
Once the site of vineyards and orchards, Monta Vista was the first neighborhood to be developed in Cupertino. It hosts a mix of homes built in the 1940s and others representing every decade since, ranging from 1,400 square feet to over 5,000 square feet in size. Residents are highly educated, with over 40% of adults holding advanced degrees, and they enjoy access to many recreational opportunities. For instance, Monta Vista connects to 739-acre Fremont Older Open Space Preserve with nearly 15 miles of recreational trails, while another main attraction is 308-acre Picchetti Ranch. Residents can also play golf at both Blackberry Farm and Deep Cliff, or unwind at Cupertino Hills Swim & Racquet Center. The neighborhood’s makeup of gorgeous scenery, architectural variety, and recreational venues is one that not many buyers choose to pass up.
