Overview
Like several other Mountain View neighborhoods, Waverly Park was originally the site of an orchard. In the 1950s, when the area’s economy began to take off, developers started purchasing land and building homes on large lots. Today, the neighborhood is primarily residential with only single-family homes. Those who live here love the tranquility, security, and welcoming spirit of the neighborhood. While some historic homes and old farmhouses are present, most of the housing stock is comprised of mid-century homes. The primary exception is the Enclave community; built in 2006, these 58 homes are some of the priciest residences in all of Mountain View.
Waverly Park offers excellent proximity to commute routes and businesses along El Camino Real. Most students live within biking distance of school, and residents can commute by bike to tech employers by means of Steven’s Creek Trail. Many also use the trail for recreation or visit popular Cooper Park, which includes play structures and sports facilities. Grocery stores are clustered at the northern end of the neighborhood, in addition to restaurants, banking, fitness, and more. The relaxed nature of Waverly Park complements its central access, creating a desirable neighborhood that is both laid-back and highly functional.
